- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined.
- Heat a 10-inch cast iron skillet over medium heat. Grease the skillet with butter.
- Pour the batter into the skillet and spread evenly. Cook the pancakes for 2 to 3 minutes, until the edges start to look golden brown.
- Flip the pancakes and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Transfer the pancakes to a baking sheet and place in the oven to keep warm while you cook the remaining pancakes.
- Serve the pancakes with butter and syrup.
