Ingredients
For this recipe, you will need 1 packet of sparkler candles, 1 rectangular cake, 1 sheet of silver foil, 1 sheet of blue foil, 1 sheet of red foil, 1 sheet of yellow foil, and 1 sheet of green foil. You will also need icing sugar, butter, and food colouring.
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and line the rectangular cake pan with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and icing sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the food colouring, one drop at a time, until you have achieved your desired colour.
3. Slowly add in the flour, a little at a time, until the mixture forms a dough. Once the dough has formed, knead it for about 5 minutes, until it is nice and smooth.
4. Roll out the dough and place it in the prepared cake pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
5. Once the cake is cooked, allow it to cool completely before decorating.
6. Cut the silver foil into small rectangles and use them to cover the entire surface of the cake.
7. Cut the blue, red, yellow and green foil into small rectangles and use them to cover the top of the cake.
8. Place the sparklers on top of the cake in the shape of a birthday cake.
9. Serve and enjoy!
